How to Convert Fahrenheit to Celsius
Fahrenheit and Celsius are the scales most often used for reporting room, weather, and water temperatures. The Fahrenheit scale is used in the United States, while the Celsius scale is used worldwide. Indeed, most countries around the world measure their weather and temperatures using the relatively simple Celsius scale. But the United States is one of just a few remaining countries that use Fahrenheit, so its important for Americans to knowà how to convert one to the other, especially when traveling or doing scientific research. How to Convert Temperatures First, you need the formula for converting Fahrenheit (F) to Celsius (C): C 5/9 x (F-32) The notation C represents the temperature in Celsius, and F is the temperature in Fahrenheit. After you know the formula, it is easy to convertà Fahrenheit to Celsius with these three steps. Subtract 32 from the Fahrenheit temperature.Multiply this number by five.Divide the result by nine. For example, suppose the temperature is 80 degrees Fahrenheit and you want to know what the figure would be in Celsius. Use the above three steps: 80 F ââ¬â 32 485 x 48 240240 / 9 26.7 C So the temperature in Celsius is 26.7 C. Fahrenheit to Celsius Example If you want to convert a normal human body temperature (98.6 F) to Celsius, plug the Fahrenheit temperature into the formula: C 5/9 x (F - 32) As noted, your starting temperature is 98.6 F. So you would have: C 5/9 x (F - 32)C 5/9 x (98.6 - 32)C 5/9 x (66.6)C 37 C Check your answer to ensure it makes sense. At ordinary temperatures, a Celsius value is always lower than the corresponding Fahrenheit value. Also, its helpful to keep in mind that the Celsius scale is based on the freezing and boiling points of water, where 0 C is the freezing point and 100 C is the boiling point. On the Fahrenheit scale, water freezes at 32 F and boils at 212 F. Conversion Shortcut You often dont need an exact conversion. If youre traveling to Europe, for example, and you know the temperature is 74 F, you might want to know the approximate temperature in Celsius. The website Lifehackerà offers this tip on making an approximate conversion: Fahrenheit to Celsius:à Subtract 30 from the Fahrenheit temperature and then divide by two. So, using the approximation formula: 74 F ââ¬â 30 4444 / 2 22 C (If you go through the previous formulas calculations for the exact temperature, you arrive at 23.3.) Celsius to Fahrenheit:à To reverse the approximation and convert from 22 C to Fahrenheit, multiply by two and add 30. So: 22 C x 2 4444 30 74 C Quick Conversion Table You can save even more time by using predetermined conversions.à The Old Farmers Almanacà offers this table for making quick conversions from Fahrenheit to Celsius. Fahrenheit Celsius -40 F -40 C -30 F -34 C -20 F -29 C -10 F -23 C 0 F -18 C 10 F -12 C 20 F -7 C 32 F 0 C 40 F 4 C 50 F 10 C 60 F 16 C 70 F 21 C 80 F 27 C 90 F 32 C 100 F 38 C Note how the Fahrenheit and Celsius scales read the same temperature at -40. Invention of Fahrenheit While youre mastering these conversions, it might be interesting to learn how the Fahrenheit temperature scale came into existence. The first mercury thermometer was invented by German scientist Daniel Fahrenheit in 1714. His scale divides the freezing and boiling points of water into 180 degrees, with 32 degrees as waters freezing point, and 212 as its boiling point. On Fahrenheits scale, zero degrees was determined as the temperature of a temperature-stable brine solution of ice, water, and ammonium chloride. He based the scale on the average temperature of the human body, which he originally calculated at 100 degrees. (As noted, its since been adjusted to 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit.) Fahrenheit was the standard unit of measure in most countries until the 1960s and 1970s when it was replaced with the Celsius scale in a widespread conversion to the more useful metric system. In addition to the United States and its territories,à Fahrenheit is still used inà the Bahamas, Belize, and the Cayman Islands for most temperature measurements.

Elements of Risk Management Plan Description Roles and Responsibilities This section deals with describing supporting and leading roles in the process of risk management. Budgeting This section discusses budget to manage risks of a project (McNeil, Frey Embrechts, 2015). Timing This section deals with defining the time of performing risk assessment and management Interpretation and Scoring It defines risk interpretation and scoring methods suitable for quantitative and qualitative analysis Thresholds It is the way through which risk significance is measured (Chance Brooks, 2015). Communication Demonstrates how risk details would be documented. Auditing and Tracking Risk activity facets would be recorded for the current projects benefit. 3. Risks can be classified based on the industry sectors. Hence, three industries such as manufacturing, retail and food industry can be considered (Hopkin, 2017). In these three industry sectors, the project risks can be classified into the executive support risks, scope risk, cost management risks, change management risks, stakeholder risks, communication risks, resources and team risks, architecture risks, design risks, technical risks, integration risks, requirement risks, risks associated with decisions and issue resolution, procurement risks, authority risks organizational, external and project management risks. 4. In order to mitigate the risks associated with the projects of Woolworths; this organization has adapted few significant organizational and industry standard risk frameworks (Pritchard PMP, 2014). Woolworths has implemented three risk assessment frameworks such as Risk Ownership and Management, Risk Oversight and Independent Assurance. 5. Qualitative Risk Analysis technique Risk Assessment Matrix and SWOT analysis are the major qualitative risk management tool. RAM is such a tool that is aimed to help in determining which risks need to develop a risk response for (McNeil, Frey Embrechts, 2015). SWOT matrix is such a risk analysis tool which assesses the strength, weakness, opportunity and threat associated with a specific product. Quantitative Risk Analysis Technique Decision Tree Analysis and Expected Monetary Value Analysis can be selected as two of the most significant tools (Chance Brooks, 2015). The EMV analysis is the statistical concept that calculates the average outcome while the future incorporates scenarios that may or may not happen. Moreover, Decision tree analysis is structured mainly through the decision tree diagram that demonstrates a situation under consideration and the implications of every of the possible selections and available choices (Pritchard PMP, 2014). Albanian crises of 97 essays
Albanian crises of 97 essays It is not easy at all to try to understand and define what happened in Albania between end of 96 till summer 97. It is almost impossible to really tell why it happened, whether it was organized if it was, what went wrong and what should have be done to avoid that. One thing is for sure though The State did NOT function. The state didnt function in several aspects and dimensions. The government was not able to prevent the expansion of the pyramid schemes. It also was not able to warn its citizens in due time about the risk that they had taken. On the other side, the citizens themselves were expecting everything from their government. And when things went wrong, the Government was on the spotlight. Everybody blamed the state and forgot they the citizens form an integral part of the state. People didnt understand that by attacking the state and its institutions, they were attacking themselves. Dont ask what the Government can do for you, but what you can do for your Government-. Unfortunately most of the citizens didnt see it this way. There can be several factors that can explain why people reacted that way. History of regimes in Albania. Albania has had very short period that can be considered that they had an independent state and the government that served them, and that is from 1920 till the Italian occupation . For the rest of the time we have either been under occupation, thus not considering the government as Albanian, or under dictatorship so that the government was serving the dictator and not the people. Manipulation of the situation by the opposition. The opposition played a very destructive role by putting narrow political interests above wider national ones. Another notion that did not function was the hierarchy. The army, the police forces and other public officials/servant didnt ...

The Split In Liberal Democracy essays
The Split In Liberal Democracy essays The Liberal tradition of democracy is split into two different theories. Each theory is based, as are most political theories, on a set of assumptions. In the Liberal tradition the assumptions made by each group are often based on what they believe is important in the Liberal tradition. Because there are two important dimensions in the Liberal tradition and people base their assumptions and theories on these two dimensions, there developed two basic theories in the Liberal tradition. They are the Thick and Thin theories of democracy. The Thick theory of democracy is rooted in the conservative dimension of democracy. The conservative dimension of democracy is the side that is concerned with the citizen and his role in preserving democracy as a society. Authors like Alexis De Tocqueville, Karl Marx, and John Dewey believe in the citizens ability to participate effectively in government based on the assumption that all men are naturally equal. The Thin theory of democracy stands on the other side of the Liberal tradition. This side of the Liberal tradition embraces the capitalist dimension of democracy. Joseph A. Schumpeter and William G. Sumner are two thinkers who see democracy as a method based on assumptions made about natural markets. They believe that society works economically and that everything should be done that is possible to maintain a free economic system. The split in the Liberal tradition, having two distinct models and way things should be done, creates a whole slew of interesting questions. One of the most fundamental and probably the most fun is whether one theory is superior to the other. I believe that the Thick theory of democracy is superior to the Thin theory of democracy. Using both Deweys and Sumners works Ill show that the Thick theory of democracy has a positive view of individual...

Ethical Dilemma vs. Ethical Lapse Coursework Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words
Ethical Dilemma vs. Ethical Lapse - Coursework Example The decision made was not ethically right for the situation. The manager should have let John go. Having a comfortable working environment in the workplace is crucial to the output of any organization. Also, the organization will grow economically, if the output of all members is maximized rather than focusing on the output of one individual (LRN, 2007). An ethical lapse is where the concerned individual makes wrong decisions that result in a negative outcome (Kurtz & Boone, 2011). An example of a situation that focuses on ethical lapse is discussed below. A friend of mine (Mark) worked in a company that deals with the provision of mobile service network. He got information that the company was experiencing financial problems, and they were being forced out by the competition. Talks about the company being sold out to another service provider were undergoing. Mark informed his friends and relatives of the situation of the company and urged them to sell off their stock before the announcement was made public. The decision that Mark made was ethically wrong. Manipulation of stock sales based on internal information is a disadvantage to uninformed parties as they suffer great losses while the informed parties make huge profits. Mark should not have had informed his friends and relatives beforehand. He should have waited for the public announcement so that the losses could be distributed equally among the shareholders of the

Privacy, Laws, and Security Measures Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
Privacy, Laws, and Security Measures - Essay Example The hackers may come from inside or outside the organization. They try to get information of the organization which is protected and use it for purposes well known to them. A malicious code refers to Trojan horses, viruses and other uninvited software. These malicious codes once associated to computers can destroy data or copy information which is useful to the organization thus paralyzing organization activities. It persons should be properly trained on the ways of maintaining the network security and other factors which involve the IT department. One or the privacy problems facing organizations today in IT is lack of proper training. This will result to lack of data security measures which will expose data to network hackers. The competitors may take this advantage and use the information against the organization. The sporting goods store is involved with purchasing, distribution and retailing of sports goods and equipments. These processes involve a lot of data exchange between the store and other stakeholders like suppliers and customers. The goods store practices e-commerce which involves online purchasing. The information generated and sent via the internet is vulnerable to cyber threats. Hackers may pass this information to competitors who may alter the information before it reaches its destination. Alteration means that information reaching the suppliers or customers will not be the same information generated from the store and these will cause confusion and misunderstanding. This will result to loss of customers and suppliers which is a great loss to the sporting store. Lack of proper training of the IT persons will bring privacy risks in the sporting goods store.à Lack of proper training indicates that IT experts donââ¬â¢t have the knowledge of the privacy security measures necessary for the organization. These security measures include network passwords, prevention of unauthorized activities from taking place and
